The College of Animal Science and Technology (CAST) at NAU, established in 1917, is one of the earliest providers of higher education in animal husbandry in China. The college currently offers 2 bachelor programs, 5 master programs and 5 doctoral programs. It has a total enrolment of about 600 undergraduate students and 350 graduated students. The college generally focuses on research in the fields of animal genetics, breeding, reproduction, nutrition, production and feed science, and will exert great efforts in the areas of animal bio-technology and gastro-intestinal microbiology in the near future.

The College is recruiting faculty to fill vacancies in animal genetics and multiplication, animal nutrition and feed science, animal production, animal biological engineering, and aquaculture.

Responsibilities and Requirements:

  • Lecturing key subjects in the university during the period of employment.

  • Conducting research in areas of specialty.

  • A consecutive 5-year first employment contract signed.

  • A PhD degree from an internationally-renowned university.

  • A least 2 academic papers published in international journals within the last 5 years; for the associate professor position, a minimum of 5 academic papers; for the full professor position, 3 academic papers with the total impact factor greater than 15.


Compensation and Benefits:

Salary

  • A salary of 80,000 RMB per year (housing fund and allowance included) will be offered to PhD degree holders to fill lecturer positions. Salary for associate and full professors is negotiable.

Accommodation:

  • PhD degree holders will be provided with an apartment.

  • A monthly rental allowance of 1,500 RMB will be offered, before the apartment is available for occupancy.

  • A monthly rental allowance of 2,000 RMB will be offered to PhD degree holders from world-renowned universities and research institutes overseas or awardees of “Dissertations of National Excellence” in China.

  • Special support

  • Outstanding new faculty will be supported by the “Zhongshan Early-career Researcher” Program and enjoy an additional yearly bonus of 30,000 RMB as well as other preferential policies for the duration of the program.
