The College of Plant Protection has gained recognition as one of the crucibles of modern plant pathology, entomology and plant quarantine in China. The college consists of three departments: the Department of Plant Pathology, the Department of Entomology, the Department of Pesticide Science. The college is currently home to 88 faculty and staff (including 33 professors), 601 undergraduate students and 640 graduate students. The college has one National Class I Key Discipline (Plant Protection), three National Class II Key Disciplines (Plant Pathology, Entomology and Pesticide Science), and three Province and Ministry Key Laboratories. As a result of hard work over several decades, the college has obtained a rapid progress in education, research and social service. The college is recognized within China as operating at a high level of excellence and has a considerable and growing international recognition.
The College is recruiting faculty to fill vacancies in plant pathology, entomology, and pesticide science.
Responsibilities and Requirements:
Supervising graduate students, participating in undergraduate instruction, as well as lecturing a graduate course in an area of interest.
Researching molecular biology of crop pests (including model organisms), molecular basis of crop-pest interactions, pesticide toxicology, or new biotechnologies to improve integrated pest management, insect physiology and biochemistry, insect molecular toxicology, insect molecular ecology and other related disciplines.
A consecutive 3-year first employment contract sighed. Tenure contract pending on demonstrated performance. Level of appointment and salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Ph.D. in Entomology, Plant Pathology, Microbiology, Biochemistry and molecular biology, Genetics or a related discipline is required; post-doctoral experience preferred.
3 peer-reviewed papers as the first or corresponding author published in high profile academic journals within the last 5 years. Evidence required.

A monthly rental allowance of 1,500 RMB will be offered, before the apartment is available for occupancy.
A monthly rental allowance of 2,000 RMB will be offered to PhD degree holders from world-renowned universities and research institutes overseas or awardees of “Dissertations of National Excellence” in China.
