NAU is the birthplace of grassland science in China. Professor Dong Wang and his collaborators made seminal contributions to the field in the 1950s and other leading authorities on the subject, such as Jizhou Ren, studied at NAU under his instruction. The College of Grassland Science was founded in 2012 and currently undertakes research in:
